From the Artist
I've never really thought about why I am a professional photographer. Truly, photography is the part of my life that has always just fit; happily, joyously. I do it because the joy I feel when I am photographing people, places or things is so deep a joy - it is almost palpable. When I am engaged in creating a photograph, the entire world melts away and all that matters is me and what I see through the lens.

In my personal pursuit of photographic knowledge I experimented with many different techniques, cameras and films. I grew to love alternative processes more than anything – I loved the surreal aspect of these techniques. It was as if it gave the images a new language, and I was entranced. I installed a darkroom in my home and in time perfected darkroom techniques as varied as standard printing to toning and solarization. I love being in the darkroom. It is the experience of watching an image unfold before my very eyes which shaped my relationship with the camera and her imagery.

I moved from the standard realm of 35mm into more expressive routes: the realm of pinhole photography, toy cameras, Polaroid transfers, infrared films, medium format and 4x5. I have a deep respect and love for the history of photography and collect antique photographs of all kinds.

These days I have joined the digital revolution and shoot primarily digitally using the magnificent Canon 5DMarkII. Though on occasion, I will experiment with film now and again for my personal work.

My love of photography translates into each image I capture. I am honored and deeply grateful every day to have a career that I love and enjoy so much.

Thank you for your interest in my work. I look forward to collaborating with you to realize your own photographic vision and needs!
